Our standard release/validation process for RancherOS is as follows:
- Any new version of RancherOS that carries critical security fixes will be released along with a validation on the most recent stable version of supported Rancher products. To illustrate this with an example, if the supported Rancher products are v1.6 and v2.x, and v1.6.28 and v2.2.6 are the most recent stable versions, then these versions will be validated on the new release of RancherOS.
- Should a new version of RancherOS not carry any critical security fixes it is likely, but not guaranteed, to be released along with a validation on the most recent stable version of supported Rancher products.
- Any new significant release of Rancher (e.g., 2.3) will be validated on the most recent stable release of RancherOS (currently, 1.5.3) and communicated as such upon its GA milestone.
